About the Artist

Photography

Each of my photography styles are widely influenced by my skills and visions as an artist. Understanding of light, framing, colour and harmony between these elements is essential in both fields, and skills in one area carry over to the next. My passion for photography started at age 13, when I used my mothers camera to take photoshoots of my friends at any chance I got, editing on any free software I could find. Picking it back up in 2021 I have since worked on developing competency in Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop through personal projects and practice.

Portraiture and People

In both staged and candid photography involving a human subject, I either work around the model, capturing a specific prominent feature (expression, hair, outfit aesthetic, setting) or I work with the model to create a planned aesthetic that I want the model to fit. My field of interest within portraiture is varied and I am able to adapt to any aesthetic, professional and staged, experimental and candid, bringing my individual creative perspective to a role.

Culture & Landscape Photography

My intention when capturing new locations is to document the experience in a way that others can experience the essence of the location through a single image, without having visited the place. Having grown experiencing many countries, I am quick to take in the features of new places, and look past the obvious and into the details of a location. I value capturing both major attractions, and the beauty of mundane everyday life. I work with the features of the city/landscape, the vibrant colours of Marrakech or the dramatic landscapes of the mountains in the Lake District (UK).

Videography

Alongside my BA Fine Art at Lancaster University, I developed an interest in film through my minor in Film Studies in the first and second year of my degree. Primarily taking on the visual roles of cinematographer and editor, I worked and assisted in different producing and directing roles for short film projects. Taking it further to volunteering for promotional video roles and furthering my skills and knowledge in video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Da Vinci Resolve) through an ongoing series of travel videos, capturing my travels through moving images.

Fine Art Painting

My studies in BA Fine Art have developed skills beyond how to apply paint to a canvas to create a beautiful image. Working primarily with realistic illusions (Trompe l'Oeil), I have honed my attention to detail, creating realistic illusions through paint that have to deceive the eye of the viewer as an overall large-scale image and within an inch of its perception. This is carried out into all other areas of my creative work.

Initially working in sketch-work and digital painting, my interest in oil painting started in 2018. I have since used it in my University degree, my commissioned painting, and my ongoing personal experiments with Landscape and Portraiture.

Open to expanding my painting interests, in all types of commissioned painting work, I work well with my clients, drafting ideas and working in niche detailed styles such as realism, or venturing into more abstract paintings, across any subject matter. I am passionate about creating paintings that capture the essence of the scene or subject matter.
